Terms and Conditions

I am committed to making sure your Ceremony is as perfect as possible, taking your wishes into account. As Much as I love my work however, it is my business and I am sure you appreciate, therefore, that I have to protect myself with terms and conditions.  If you have any queries about these please do talk to me.

 

Terms and Conditions                      

By this contract between Ceremonies by Josie (hereinafter called The Company) and the Named Persons booking Ceremonies by Josie (hereinafter called The Clients) it is mutually agreed that The Company will provide services as Celebrants and The Clients will pay The Company for the services set out below:

 

Charges

The Company’s charge covers:

  • Meetings with The Clients before the Ceremony.

  • Meetings may also take place via Zoom/WhatsApp/Facetime.

  • Unlimited consultation via telephone/email/video calls before the Ceremony. 

  • Preparation of the script for the Ceremony.

  • Attendance at and delivery of the Ceremony itself.

 

Additional Charges

  • Certain aspects of the Ceremony may incur extra charges e.g. Handfasting Cords, Unity Candles, Sand, Stones (this is not an inclusive list).  These will be discussed at meetings with The Client and only ordered if agreed by The Client.

 

Payment Schedule

Invoices will be issued to The Clients as follows:

  • Booking - Fee: Invoiced at time of booking

  • Writing - Fee: Invoiced when script writing commences

  • Balance -Due four weeks before the date of Ceremony

  • Travel: - Invoiced when travel occurs outside of the limit detailed above.

 

Payment should be made via BACS to the account detailed on invoices.  The Company’s payment terms are seven days.  Cheques will only be accepted by prior agreement with The Company.  The Booking will not be confirmed until the Booking Fee has been received.

 

Legalities

Ceremonies by Josie (The Company) makes it clear that they are not permitted by law to perform the legalities required for marriage registration and, therefore, it is the responsibility of The Clients to ensure their legal paperwork is completed at The Register Office or other official institution as appropriate before the Ceremony takes place. 

 

Cancellation

A Booking Fee, as detailed above, is required at the time of booking.  Cancellation of the booking, 28 days or less before the date of the Ceremony, will incur full payment. 

 

COVID-19

In the case of cancellation due to restrictions placed on you or Ceremonies by Josie because of any government requirements linked to COVID-19, the Booking Fee will be refunded less £50 to cover administration of your wedding and resources sent out to you.  All work done and other expenses incurred will be detailed clearly and we are always prepared to have a full discussion.

 

Substitute

In the very unlikely event that the booked Celebrant is unable to attend on the day due to illness or other unpreventable circumstance, The Company will ensure the booking is fulfilled by another celebrant, who will be given the agreed script and instructions.

 

Music/Sound

Some venues will require a sound system to ensure guests can hear the vows, readings and music if played.  Music and sound (microphones, pa systems etc) are the absolute responsibility of The Clients.

 

Responsibilities of The Company

The Company is responsible for providing the Ceremony Script and to deliver that script along with additional elements that have been agreed with The Client, such as handfasting, candles etc.  Other duties such as seating plans for the Ceremony, music, organising the guests etc are the responsibility of The Clients and their nominated representatives.

 

Publicity

The Company reserves the right to use the Ceremony for marketing purposes, but will not use photographs of the Ceremony, nor disclose The Client’s names, without The Client’s express permission.

 

Celebrant (Ceremonies by Josie)

Ceremonies by Josie will adhere to expected and professional standards.  I will work closely with you to ensure that you have the Ceremony you want and work within a strictly ethical framework.  I respectfully inform you that Ceremonies by Josie will withdraw from ceremony arrangements if I, the celebrant receive any abuse including discrimination in any form.

 

Complaints

The Company’s intent is to work closely with our Clients to design and deliver a Ceremony that accurately reflects our Client’s wishes.  If our Clients have any complaints, The Company respectfully asks that these are raised immediately in writing.  The Company will secure the services of an independent adjudicator to investigate each complaint and respond to The Client within fourteen days of receipt of the complaint.

 

Privacy Notice

Here at Ceremonies by Josie we take your privacy seriously.  You have provided us with your contact details so that I can correspond with you about your ceremony or service/ product as agreed.  I will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the services you have requested from me.  I do not pass on or sell your details to any other organisation.
